Adieu ABONEY

Created by Sandra one year ago
It came to me as a shock, it hit me like a heavy wave from the sea side, the news of the demise of my friend, my bosom brother ,my colleague, my playmate ,my childhood friend, ABIODUN who we popularly call ABONEY or ALASKA .

Speaking to you few weeks ago before your demise, even made it more painful as you came briefly to Nigeria to attend the reunion and facility handover which your set, did for their secondary school. That is the kind of person l know you to be, caring, relentless, hardworking, loving and very extremely friendly.

You are a friend to all, someone there for many , giving shoulder for many to lean on, you are a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Knowing you since my childhood days, how we both made a commitment to serve God, how pastor tony obikudu brought you into the family of CCIC, growing up in the same area surulere, exposed our stubbornness but at CHRIST CHAPEL, we found a family that accepted us and loved us, we both served as protocol officers before joining the workforce of CCIC. We were inseparable, people who knew us called both of us twins. Most times, we had pairs of everything, then l went to Abuja in 1997, Knowing that we were inseparable, l invited you to join me in Abuja as we started another work for CCIC in Abuja.

God created the opportunity for you to travel abroad, you and my wife went to same school in OJere, Ogun polytechnic, when my wife was asking questions about me, you stood in and spoke confidently about my credentials, today ,by the grace of God and through your help and involvement, l have a great wife, family and ministry.

Your life ABIODUN OYEFUSI, has always been about others, you can go any extra mile for others, the way you speak kind words and sweet words to people is one of my greatest assets learnt from you . Many people call us different names, got annoyed with us, that we do things almost together, the slogan then was get biodun, you get Deji, get Deji you get biodun..we had a wonderful Ride and still do even at adulthood.

Many memories flashing as l write but am glad and happy that your purpose in life is achieved though short, your love God and that you have a great family , wife and children to show the faithfulness of our God.

Sleep well my brother, my pastor, l and my wife will miss you greatly.

Adieu, till we meet again at the masters feet.

May your soul, rest in perfect peace.
